Toddler

The TVCDC toddler program serves children 12 months through 3 years of age.  Each classroom operates by or below the State regulated child-to-teacher ratio and implements daily activities to guide and encourage creativity, exploration, and experimental hands on learning.  To establish consistency of care and promote secure and safe relationships, an enrollment minimum of 2 days per week is required.

Our loving and attentive toddler teachers spend their days nurturing children through imaginative play and creative activities.  Children enjoy circle time each day, where they can express themselves through song, dance, art, and interacting with books, stories, and plays.  

Additionally, the daily classroom schedule includes times for free play.  Free play time allows for natural peer to peer interactions and provides opportunities for children to discover and problem solve with the loving guidance of the teachers.   This open atmosphere also encourages the development of critical communication skills while the teachers’ gentle instruction and encouragement simultaneously instills confidence, independence, and a sense of self.  

As children learn to share their needs, discover the world around them, and master various day to day tasks the teachers come along side to highlight and model social/emotional awareness and communication skills.
